Good evening, this is Mr. Byland from East Yancey with a few announcements,
On April 14th, all students will take part in the annual Youth Risk Behavior Survey. This survey helps us to better serve student's needs. There is an opt out form that your student should bring home tomorrow if you'd rather them not participate.
The annual reproductive health class, focusing on abstinence, will be taught for 7th and 8th graders on April 16th. If you would rather your child not participate, there is an opt out form being sent home for this as well tomorrow.

Week at a Glance WAG March 31-April 4
Good evening, this is Mr. Byland from East Yancey with a few important announcements,
Spring break will be April 18th-25th, with a half day on April 17th.
The 8th grade dance will be on May 16th from 6-9pm. Tickets will be $5.
End of grade testing will take place the week of May 12th. All students will need to be at school that week.

Due to extreme fire danger, Yancey County has declared a State of Emergency. The threat of wildfires is high due to dry conditions and increased fuel load on the forest floor. All residents and personnel are urged to comply with the Emergency Operations plan to ensure safety.
Stay safe and follow all guidelines. This proclamation includes the Town of Burnsville.

On Monday and Tuesday, students will receive safe dates training. There will be a tornado drill on Wednesday. Sports pictures will be on Wednesday as well. On Tuesday night, we will have our science night from 5 until 6pm.
From our sports section:
Softball and baseball are at home on Monday. Golf is at Grassy Creek on Tuesday. Soccer is at Cane River on Wednesday. Track is at Rosman on Thursday.
