Dear Micaville Elementary Community,
My name is Miranda Elkins and I am thrilled to have been named the new principal of Micaville Elementary.
I was raised in Newdale and consider it a blessing to have attended this amazing school as a child. Many fond memories flood my mind, such as participating in chapel programs and playing on the big rock on the back playground (many, many years ago). I am also reminded of the happiness and joy throughout the building which created an environment of safety and love. For this I commend the amazing faculty and staff who were dedicated to the children, to our learning, and most importantly, to our overall well-being. They were truly amazing and many of us are forever indebted to them.
I am so glad that this environment still exists at Micaville Elementary. The current faculty and staff are just as dedicated as those amazing educators from my childhood. I have already witnessed ways in which they go above and beyond for each and every one of our students, and I am honored to again be part of this family.
In addition to an exemplary faculty, I am excited to get to know our wonderful students. My previous experience with elementary taught me how sweet, how special, and how impressionable these young minds are. It is my desire to always steer each in the right direction, to have high expectations for their learning, and to work closely with parents and faculty to ensure that their needs are met.
As we begin this new school year amid uncertainties and concerns, please know that the safety of your child is our number one priority -- physically as well as emotionally. We will work diligently to ensure a safe environment while also providing your child with a quality education. Between your child’s willingness to learn, your engagement to ensure they are attempting each assignment, and the amazing staff of Micaville Elementary, we have all the ingredients to the recipe for SUCCESS, and I cannot wait to see how good that tastes!
